HuckPAC House Parties This Thursday Night!

On Thursday night, February 26th, over 100 HuckPAC House parties are being held all over the county between 7-9 PM local time.   The parties are being held to spread the word about the National Volunteer Team and to sign up volunteers arounmd the country.   In fact there  may be one close to you:

During the parties a video will be shows with an important message from Governor Mike Huckabee.  For those of you who can’t make it to an actual party, the video will be posted on the HuckPAC website, along with a chat thread on the blog for a virtual House Party.  Some interesting facts:

–  Mike Huckabee will be speaking at CPAC on Thursday afternoon and those that are attending are invited to the House Party in Fairfax, VA (check the map).

– One of the House Parties in Iowa is being attended by Bob Vander Plaats, Mike’s former state campign chair and candidate for Governor in 2010.

– There’s even going to be a party in Alaska!  How about that?

HuckPAC On The Scene at CA GOP Convention!

Thanks to the support of HuckPACers around the county, there is a HuckPAC Booth at the California GOP State Convention this weekend!  There are already some great pictures in and you can view them HERE.  This is just the first of many events HuckPAC will be represented at this year as our National Volunteer Team continues to grow.  I am proud to be one of Georgia’s Grassroots Coordinators for the PAC.  You can sign up for the NVT by clicking this link.  Let’s keep growing our ranks and help get Conservatives elected at local, state, and the National level in 2009 and 2010!

UPDATE – Here’s a personal report from my friend David Schmidt on how everything went on the first night.  It appears we are having a great impact by just being there!

HuckPAC’s Supporters Come Through Again!

Earlier this week, Governor Mike Huckabee challenged us to break through the monthly online fundriaising goal in 48 hours.  Not only did we do it in that amount of time, but we crossed the goal-line almost a full day early!  The following is Mike’s message on that accomplishment:

If there is one thing I have learned since I started Huck PAC, it is that I can count on all of you to come through when I ask for your help. Thank you once again for helping Huck PAC and me reach our fundraising goal hours before the deadline. Each one of you makes everything we do possible.

I am enclosing a short note below from our California National Volunteer Coordinators. They are headed off to the California State GOP Convention this weekend with a dedicated and hard working group of supporters. You made their going possible financially, and they wanted to thank you.

God Bless,

Mike Huckabee

Dear Huck PAC National Volunteer Team:

On behalf of the Huck PAC Volunteer Team in California, we the Grassroots Coordinators congratulate and thank you for meeting another fundraising goal! Even in these difficult economic times, you have chosen to go “above and beyond” in your giving because you know that an investment in Huck PAC is a wise investment in the advancement of conservative values and candidates.

By your generosity, you have partnered with your California Volunteer Team to produce and supply a Huck PAC exhibit at this weekend’s California Republican Party Convention. You can be confident that your generosity will be matched by our enthusiastic efforts to present Huck PAC to hundreds of Republican leaders and delegates who are converging on Sacramento from every county in our vast state. We are thrilled that we will be able to send many of our Convention guests back home to next week’s House Parties where they can get plugged in with their local Huck PAC Volunteer Team!

It’s no secret that in California, as in a growing number of places around the country, traditional values and fiscal responsibility are under assault as never before. Be encouraged, however, that among the Californians who don’t usually make the national news are millions of everyday people who, like you, contend for their conservative values and instill them in their families.

We on the California Volunteer Team are working to get a great many of these families on board Huck PAC to build a force for electing conservatives who boldly protect and advance our cardinal values – Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness – as the only reliable foundation for the governance of our communities, our state, and our nation.

Thank you for standing with us.

I Am Proud to Endorse John Oxendine For Governor of Georgia!!

Last May, Georgia’s current State Insurance Commissioner, John Oxendine made waves at the Georgia State Republican Convention when he announced he candidacy for Governor while he voiced his extreme displeasure with Congress for failing to follow the leadership of Representative John Linder on the FairTax.  A few weeks later after doing some research I endorsed Commissioner Oxendine on my old blog.  Since I have imported that blog’s posts here you can find it HERE. I would like to reiterate my endorsement for Commissioner Oxendine right here and right now.

John Oxendine has been our State Insurance Commissioner since he was first elected during the Republican Revolution of 1994.  He became the first Republican elected to high state office in many years (if not since Reconstruction).  Ever since he has been one of the most popular Republicans in our state.  In his last two re-election contests he earned the highest amount of votes of any Republican on the ticket (winning many traditionally Democratic precincts).  Margin-wise it reminds me of the margins that Governor Mike Huckabee enjoyed when winning re-election in Arkansas.

If there is a dictionary definition for “Public servant” Commissioner Oxendine’s picture would accompany the term’s entry.  He keeps his office open past traditional business hours to serve the citizens of Georgia at hours that are more convenient to us.  He has also done the unthinkable – cut jobs at the office but increased productivity and efficiency.  On matters of insurance and other consumer matters he is highly praised time and time again for the job he has done.  I can only see great things for Georgia under his leadership.

Commissioner Oxendine is putting his job on the line running for Governor (he can’t continue to be insurance commissioner if he loses his bid for Governor).  One of the major planks in his platform is the FairTax.  He has not waited to be elected to work hard for us on this matter.  He has traveled across the country building support for limited constitutional conventions to get this true economic stimulus adopted.  There are already 16 states on board to follow Georgia’s lead once the language is agreed upon.  There is no other candidate in this race that is so committed to our cause in putting the “Going Out of Business” sign on the door of the IRS.

I can also say without hesitation that John Oxendine is the strongest conservative in this race.  He is unequivocally Pro Life and Pro Family.  He knows that the 2nd Amendment is crucial to defend our 1st amendment rights.  He is committed to stand strong to improve education, energy, health care, and our economy through innovative and effective means.

There are two other major Republican candidates at present for Governor in 2010.  One of them is Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.  He has not gotten along well with the General assembly and electing him may create a legislative log jam that would hamper our ability to grow and operate.  He has also been no friend to the FairTax thus far.  The other candidate is our current Secretary of State Karen Handel.  She announced her candidacy right before the session of the General Assembly began and the delay in its conclusion may force her out because compared to Cagle and Oxendine she has not raised any money.  The only State Republican convention before the election is this May and she can’t spend any money to promote herself by law there.  Therefore she is at a great disadvantage.  She has been a wonderful Secretary of State, taking strong stands against illegal immigration as it pertains to elections  However, she has only served for two years and I wish she would stay at her post for a little while longer.

Under Governor Perdue’s leadership for the past eight years, we have seen “Sonny” days and have moved in the right direction, compared to the days under Democrat Roy Barnes.  I feel that John Oxendine is our best chance to make Georgia a better state and a leader in the nation.  I feel he is the right man, for the right job, at the right time.  Getting to know him, follow him, and listen to him speak he reminds me of the kind of person and candidate I found in Governor Mike Huckabee in the 2008 Presidential race.  He is very real and speaks from his heart.  He’s already taken some unpopular positions in this race but like Mike, he won’t change based on the advice of paid staff or the direction of the political winds.

Therefore it is with great pride that I endorse Commissioner John Oxendine for Governor of Georgia!

Welcome To The Huckabee Republican

Hello & Welcome!

My name is Brian Donegan.  I am a 26 year old conservative from Lawrenceville, GA.  This is the latest of (now) three blogs I have published (the previous posts here are imported from my other blogs so that you can see how things have evolved).

I started blogging at about the same time I began supporting Governor Mike Huckabee’s Presidential run.  I have not stopped.  It’s been a wild ride full of leaps of faith.  I don’t regret a thing!  My ride has included a surprise Birthday call from Mike, becoming an Associate Community Coordinator for the FairTax, Meeting Mike in person and standing on stage at a FairTax rally he spoke at, becom, ing a state Grassroots coordinator for HuckPAC, and signing up as a volunteer for John Oxendine’s campaign for Governor here in Georgia.

Stay tuned for the latest on  what Mike Huckabee is doing now, the efforts of HuckPAC, John Oxendine’s campaign, and much more news about the Huckabee Republican movement!

EDIT – All My posts from previous blogs have now been imported so you can see the transition of ideas.

Goooo Dawgs!!! :)

sspx00061As some of you might know the Michigan State Spartans and Georgia Bulldogs played each other in football on New Year’s Day.  Well that happens to be the favorite teams of Trucker Randy and I.  So we decided to make things fun and interesting.  If Michigan State won the game I would have to wear a Spartant cap until the end of April everywhere I went.  Same goes for Randy with a Georgia cap if my ‘Dawgs won.

As the game approached we upped the stakes a little and I gave Randy the points and so now Georgia had to win by more than 7 and a half.  In a game that was close until the very end My dawgs pulled away.  As you can see Trucker Randy is a man of his word and a very good sport.  Better luck next time sir!  🙂
