Additional information on Strategic Vision, LLC may be obtained at http://www.strategicvision.biz.

“While it remains early in the campaign, Team Oxendine notes that John Oxendine continues to lead in every independent poll and leads the undecided category – the first time a Republican candidate has done so with the current field,” said campaign manager Kathryn Ballou.

“We are proud that John Oxendine continues to earn the support of Republicans across Georgia. With Governor Barnes entrance into the race, Georgia Republicans understand that our Party must support the candidate who can win in November of 2010. These numbers indicate John Oxendine is that candidate,” said Ballou.

Not only is Commissioner Oxendine beating his closest competitor by over 20 percentage points, but in a remarkable feat in a six-candidate race this far out, he is now beating “Undecided” for the first time!

GUEST POST: Why I Like Mike Huckabee

The following is a fantastic guest post by my friend Melissa Green.  She is one of the HuckPAC State Coordinators in Alabama.  She wrote the following as a Facebook note and it is fantastic.  While my story with Mike is not the same it is a very similar one.  It’s playing out in a similar way with many people like Melissa and I all across this nation.

Why I like Mike Huckabee: How he has inspired a new generation to get involved in politics.

By Melissa Green

I have always followed politics on a National level. Yes I admit that I watch cable news probably more than any other channel, but I got involved in Mike Huckabee presidential bid IN SPITE of that fact. I had heard of him, seen him interviewed, and was being told every day “he is too liberal.” But while watching a debate he said something that I just could not let go of. He said, “We don’t have a HealthCARE crisis in America we have a HEALTH crisis.” That one simple statement was enough to get me to search his website and see what this guy was all about. To my surprise I agreed with him on every position, except he has this thing called the Fair Tax he was for. Also something I had heard of before, but didn’t have a clue what in the world it was. So I researched the Fair Tax and I was hooked. This guy is actually FOR something that would take power out of Washington and return it back to the people. People would tell me…..”but he is a populist.” I say if a “populist” means putting the needs of the American people first, then sign me up, because his positions were just common sense to me. The more I read his blogs and saw him interviewed, the more I liked him and trusted him. He stood up for what he believed, even when the “media” would just pummel him for it. So Donnie and I started giving to his primary campaign. Now when you start putting your money where you mouth is (especially when we really didn’t have it to give) then you know you have been inspired to no longer sit on the sidelines, but you are ready to fight to change the status quo. I took the loss in the primary in stride. I honestly believed that God was guiding his campaign and he had different plans for Mike. People ask me all the time “do you think he will run again.” I honestly don’t know. I pray that he will consider it because he is exactly what this county needed, and will need even more after the next two/four years, but God had given him a platform that is probably just as powerful to change hearts and minds. Only God knows what the future holds for Governor Huckabee.

I did as Mike asked and stuck with the republicans in the last election (while holding my nose), but I also knew that I was going to work to change things. I had no idea how I was going to do that because I know practically nothing about the “game” of politics. In March I was contacted by Huck PAC, Mike Huckabee’s Political Action Committee. It was a crazy time for me because we were right in the middle of Seussical and my life was busy and stressful as we got that production to the stage. Huck PAC asked me if I would be one of the Alabama State Coordinators for Huck PAC. Donnie looked at me like I was crazy when I told him. How was I going to have time to do it? But I was determined to make a difference in the future of America and this was the path God was providing me to do that. I agreed knowing that I was not going to be able to do anything with it for a while. After Seussical, my life began to change. Because of my “new position” of Alabama State Coordinator for Huck PAC I reached out to some guy named Les Phillip who was planning to run for the 5th District House Seat. I just told him who I was and asked him if he would be interested in trying to receiving and endorsement from Huck PAC. His answer was yes, we met, I LOVED him and here we are today. We have successfully gotten that endorsement from Huck PAC, we have successfully gotten Governor Huckabee to come to Huntsville to raise money for Les’ bid for congress, and I am having a blast. I will be attending my FIRST political fundraiser as Les’ guest and will be sitting at the “head table.” Why? Because of Mike Huckabee, my faith and trust in him and my faith and trust in God. God didn’t get Mike as far as he did for us all to just go away, but the thing you must all understand is my story is but one. There are thousands of other people just like me that are working in their states and districts, running for all manner of public office, and financially supporting candidates that will be good for this country because of this unknown Governor that thought he might be the best President for America. I can never thank him enough for enduring all the things he went through so that we might have a chance to leave a better county for our kids than the one we live in now.

So that is why I like Mike Huckabee so much. He gave me hope that this unknown homemaker who just wants to leave a better America for our kids and grandkids can have an impact too.

Bob Vander Plaats For Iowa’s Next Governor!

My friend Randy Davis has quite the way with words. I echo his sentiments and offer my support to Bob Vander Plaats the next Governor of Iowa, someone The Hawkeye State will be proud of!

I would like to introduce you to Bob Vander Plaats (say Vander-Plots) and why I believe he should become…..

Over the past 22 years we have traveled all over the nation with our ministry. During those two plus decades we
have had the opportunity of being in hundreds of churches and literally meeting thousands of people from all walks of life. I know from experience that it is extremely rare to find an individual with as many positive qualities as Bob Vander Plaats.

Not only is Bob a very good friend of ours and a dedicated Christian, but a man of impeccable character with a stellar reputation. I realize that some of you may know Bob and are well aware of all the great qualities he possesses. However, it may be many of you have never heard of him, perhaps in much the same way scores of Americans had never heard of Governor Mike Huckabee, just over one year ago.

Bob Vander Plaats ( pronounced Vander-Plots) received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and Masters and Specialist Degrees from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

He is also the author of the popular new book, “Light from Lucas” which is available in bookstores and can be purchased at the Web Site called http://www.lightfromlucas.com You may also obtain this great book by purchasing it on our Web Site at http://www.chalkartist.com …and then clicking on “Special Offers.”

If you do not have this book, I urge you to get a copy right away. For me, I would have to say that other than the Bible itself, it is perhaps the most life changing book I have ever read. Like us, Bob and his wife were blessed to have a “special”child. The third of four children, Lucas was born severely disabled. This story will tug at your heart , and then touch your very soul in a way few books can. Shirley and I gave many of these books away as Christmas gifts this past year.

Bob also has served as a high school teacher, coach, and principal for eleven years in Iowa Public Schools. In 1996, Bob became President and CEO of Opportunities Unlimited in Sioux City, Iowa; a human services organization providing rehabilitation services for young adults with brain injuries and other life altering disabilities.

Bob was a Republican candidate for Iowa’s Governor in 2002 and the Republican nominee for Iowa’s Lt. Governor in 2006. He is now the President of MVP Leadership specializing in strategic vision and executive leadership and working diligently to spread God’s “light” through the life of Lucas.

Bob and his wife Darla are the parents of four sons, including Lucas, and reside in Sioux City, Iowa.

I could go on and on about Bob. I guess the primary point I want to make to those of you who do not yet know Bob, is that he is “the real deal.” If you like Mike Huckabee, you will love Bob Vander Plaats. In fact, Bob served as the Iowa Chairman for Governor Huckabee’s Presidential campaign. Even though we are obviously all different, I see many of the same qualities that drew me to Governor Huckabee in Bob Vander Plaats.

In a nutshell, Bob is HONEST. That may seem to be a rare quality for a person in the political world , but it is true. He is a tremendous communicator, and in my mind, impossible to dislike. For Iowa conservatives, there is no one even remotely close to possessing the qualities of this man.

In fact, if it were possible for Iowa conservatives to “create” a person in a lab somewhere that could articulate their values both socially and fiscally, they would “create Bob Vander Plaats.” The bad news is that human beings do not have that scientific ability, but the good news is, we don’t have to. He already exists.

Believe it or not, the year 2010…. is just next year! In 2010, Iowa will have the opportunity to elect a new Governor. Bob Vander Plaats’ experiences have prepared him not only to be the best GOP candidate for Governor in 2010 but also to be the best leader of either party to move Iowa forward. Bob’s considerable advantages over anyone in the race include….

Executive and Business Experience

As CEO of Opportunities Unlimited in Sioux City, Bob led the financial and clinical turnaround of this not-for profit organization. In four short years, Bob’s leadership brought the corporation from the brink of closure to one referenced as “the model in the country.” The governorship requires an “executive mindset”- a leader not a follower. Bob is not only a successful business owner, but also a proven leader in education. Other potential candidates lack that executive record and that combination of skill sets and experiences.

A Leader in Education

Education spending comprises more than 60 percent of the state budget. While educational professionals exert heavy influence on behalf of Democrats, GOP candidates too often cede the education issue entirely. Nominating a Republican candidate with real classroom and school leadership experience will attract “education voters,” particularly independents, to our side. Elections are won-or lost-among independent voters. In recent cycles, we’ve been losing those voters and elections. Bob Vander Plaats will be the only GOP candidate who can match-and exceed- Chet Culver’s experience in education.

Personal and Professional Human Services Story

Republicans have been biennial losers on this issue. We are painted as uncaring on issues of importance to Iowans who need assistance from the human services system. Bob Vander Plaats speaks to these issues as a parent and a professional. As the author of “Light from Lucas” mentioned above, he details his family’s inspirational story of raising a child with disabilities. As a professional who led a nonprofit that serves Iowans with disabilities and was appointed by Governor Branstad to lead a state committee on those issues, Bob will do more than neutralize the Democrats’ perceived advantage on this important issue; he’ll turn the issue into a plus. Once again, no other candidate- Republican or Democrat- has his experience or perspective.

Statewide Campaign Experience (and resulting organizational advantage)

It takes a great deal of work and discipline to campaign for statewide office in Iowa. Many candidates have underestimated the commitment required for such an endeavor. Bob knows what it takes. He is not overwhelmed by the task, rather he relishes it. As a result of a relentless focus, Bob has built a statewide support system second to none. Period.

Solid Conservative Credentials

Our party nominee must distinguish himself from Governor Culver. Bob is recognized for his solid social and fiscal conservative credentials.

The Head Start Edge

Getting out of the blocks fast makes a difference in campaigns, especially when it scares off others. It’s always easiest to beat an opponent who doesn’t get into the race. ( Just ask Bill Clinton. The Democratic power structure was completely aligned to give the 1992 nomination to New York Governor Mario Cuomo, but he took a pass. The rest is history.) The odds of potential opponents sitting out a race increase proportionately when a strong candidate has emerged. Bob is that strong candidate.

The Buyer’s Remorse Factor

Numerous voters who opted for Jim Nussle in 2006 or Doug Gross in 2002 say they wish they would have supported Bob Vander Plaats and he’d been our nominee. Bob will pick up additional support in this election cycle from activists, voters and the party’s “money people” who now believe we’d have a better shot at victory had they backed him rather than someone else. Thankfully, Bob is not turning his back on our party or our state by giving us another opportunity.

The “Who Wants it Most?” Factor

Call it “attitude.” Call it “the heart of a winner.” Call it “the mind of a champion.” In politics as in sports, all things being fairly equal it’s the person who wants it the most that wins. In campaigns, cash is the one factor capable of surpassing willpower and desire. Unlike 2006, no candidate starts the 2010 political cycle with a huge cash advantage. But one candidate-ours-starts and will finish with a winning attitude, heart and mindset. No one will out work Bob Vander Plaats.

National Support Network

Bob has laid the foundation for a national fundraising and support network through his prominent role as Mike Huckabee’s Iowa Chairman and “inner circle” member, and his work with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. National figures like Mike Huckabee, Chuck Norris and others have already pledged to come to Iowa to campaign for Bob.

Forward this to others and let’s get the word out about this amazing opportunity of electing a man of this caliber for Governor of Iowa !

VIDEO – A Team Huck Pep Talk

While in Indiana three weeks ago, I got to see some of the local sights.  I was very fortunate to be able to walk inside historic Hoosier Gym, where the movie Hoosiers was filmed.  While touring the gym I spent some time in the locker room and filmed the following video.  I decided it was time to give a Pep Talk on behalf of Team Huck.  It took many takes to get it just right but this is the result!

Dear FairTax supporter,

It’s known as the “Show Me State,” and when it comes to the FairTax, Missouri is just that.

To show your support for the FairTax there and especially in Washington to replace the federal income tax system, we hope you’ll consider making a special trip to join us in Columbia, MO on Saturday, June 13 for the huge Midwest FairTax Rally. Yep, that’s a haul for many, but this rally alone could draw 20,000 or more so we need you there.

GUEST BLOG – Rush Limbaugh’s Blind Spot

The following is a guest blog by my good friend Randy Davis in Iowa.  You can visit his website here.    The following was written in January of this year.  I thought it was great and wanted to share.  Enjoy.

Rush Limbaugh’s Blind Spot

Rush Limbaugh is, and has been right about lots of stuff over the years, but he is totally off base when it comes to Governor Mike Huckabee. I could tell by the stuff he said during the primaries in late 2007 and early 2008 that he didn’t even know Governor Huckabee or his real positions….he just fell for the establishment line of garbage in much the same way that Ann Coulter did. I’m afraid that Rush is still making the typical non-Christian mistake of believing that true conservative “Republicanism” is what will save America from destruction ……when in reality, it is true Biblical Christianity that is her only hope.

His spin on “Conservatism” has actually become his deity or religion….that’s his blind spot, and he is probably “incapable” of understanding that actual truth…even though, in his own mind, he is America’s “Truth Detector.”

People always quote the passage…”the truth will set us free.” What they often don’t realize is that in that passage in John 8:31 Jesus was speaking to Jews who had “Believed on Him”…in other words “real genuine Christians in the Biblical sense. To “those” people he said…..”IF you continue in my word… (“IF”) …..then you are my disciples indeed, and you will know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Conservatism is by far the best mode of political operation and I believe can be linked to scriptural roots…but when you take just “secular conservatism” alone…just by itself…. and try to base your life around it apart from the literal source of all Truth, all you have is the normal political rhetoric of the day.

It’s like saying… ” I just exist, but I have no parents.” True conservatism can only triumph if it is connected to it’s Biblical roots. Rush stayed very busy chopping the tree of conservatism free from it’s roots every day on the radio, along with many other “conservative talkers”. He was successful in helping muddy the waters enough with confusion and skepticism, that many conservative voters opted for other candidates deemed more “electable.”

He did his very best to destroy the “once in a life time candidacy” of Governor Huckabee ….who could well have moved conservatism further into the mainstream than Rush could ever have imagined. With a weak 2008 GOP candidate like John Mc Cain, the election outcome has produced perhaps the most liberal/socialist candidate in our nations history, Barrack Obama. If Governor Huckabee decides on another run in 2012, I would hope Rush can adjust his political mirror enough that he will not do a repeat “hit job.” My fear is that Rush, Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and a whole host of others may prove to be bigger obstacles for the Governor than the liberals. I hope I’m wrong.

Of course, we must pray for the new President and his cabinet because God is still in control and is fully capable of doing “exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or even think.” (Ephesians 3:20)

In 2 Chronicles 14:11 …Asa only had 580,000 men against the 1 million that Zerah the Ethiopian had (plus his 300 chariots) It looked as though Asa and his men would be slaughtered in record time with no hope or chance at all. But Asa cried out to the Lord and said….”Lord, it is nothing for You to help….whether with many or with those who have no power, help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You !”

Let’s hope and pray the GOP comes to it’s senses, or we will all need the new bumper sticker…”Hey GOP- Don’t Blame Me…I voted for Mike Huckabee” By the way, I have several of these stickers, if you would like one drop me a note and I will send you one.

Mike Huckabee: Elections Matter

The following is the latest E-mail from Governor Mike Huckabee and HuckPAC.  The E-mail focuses on the President Obama’s Supreme Court Appointment but also puts any questions to bed about whether HuckPAC will endorse Marcco Rubio in Florida’s US Senate race – That answer is a resounding Yes!

Elections Matter

The appointment of Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court is the clearest indication yet that President Obama’s campaign promises to be a centrist and think in a bi-partisan way were mere rhetoric.

Sotomayor comes from the far left and will likely leave us with something akin to the “Extreme Court” that could mark a major shift. The notion that appellate court decisions are to be interpreted by the “feelings” of the judge is a direct affront of the basic premise of our judicial system that is supposed to apply the law without personal emotion. If she is confirmed, then we need to take the blindfold off Lady Justice.

Please make a contribution today in support of our efforts to elect Republicans to the Senate. While we may not be able to block liberal Judge Sotomayor, we must be prepared for future nominations. Electing more Republicans to the Senate then is critical.

Your contribution or $5, $10, $25 or $50 will be invested in the candidates for Senate Huck PAC endorses. Candidates such as Marco Rubio of Florida.

With each contribution of $30 or more we will also send you a Team Huck t-shirt.

Fighting for our ideas,

Mike Huckabee

P.S.  Be sure and watch “Huckabee” on the Fox News Channel this weekend for an
update on this decision.
